The Fault in our Stars- Official Review

The Fault in our Stars is a tragic and heart breaking novel and now movie, that gives life another look.  Shailene Woodlee, plays the part of Hazel Grace Lancaster who has lung and thyroid cancer. One day after an important doctor's appointment, Hazel's doctor suggests for her to go to support group once a week.  Her parents are glad to push her into going.  The support group was held in the "heart of Jesus" (AKA- church) where Hazel finally meats the changing factor of living.  Augustus Waters, played by Ansel Elgort, appears in Hazel's life when Issac brings his best friend, Gus to support group.  Issac has cancer in his eyes and has already gotten one taken out.  When he finds out he is loosing the other, he needs his friend's support.  Augustus claimed he was in remission from cancer as well, From his last cancer, he only has one real leg and has to walk with a fake one. He also stated that his biggest fear was oblivion.  After Hazel gives a speech saying you can't be afraid of dying because it is unstoppable, Augustus starts a conversation with Hazel.  They started off good and then Gus pulled out a cigarette and Hazel was disgusted. She didn't understand why he would risk dying again after he already pulled through. Find out what happens in the movie!

As the story passes, Hazel and Gus become a couple and are always there for each other. They face their fears together. They used okay as their forever's. They will always be there forever.  Hazel introduces Gus to her favorite book, Imperial Affliction, and they are desperate to find out what happens at the ending with the teenager who had cancer.  Because Hazel used her wish when she was little on Disney World, Augustus decided to use his for the two of them to go and meet Peter Van Haton, the author of  Imperial Affliction.  When they get to his house, they realize he was a very bad man and an alcoholic. They spend the rest of their day on a boat trip where Gus tells Hazel the doctors found cancer in his legs again. He asks her to write a speech  to give a his funeral. When she agrees,  They have a funeral before he passes so he can hear what she says.  Later in the movie, after some very tragic news, Hazel sees someone she was not expecting who gives her a letter from Augustus asking for his help writing a speech for Hazel's funeral.  Hazel lives her life from things she learned in that letter, and Augustus Waters is in her heart forever no matter what happens.  This movie shows you what life is really about. When I saw it, I was crying the whole time, and that was a good thing.  It helps you discover things about yourself that you never noticed before.
