Minions

The Minions are back and funnier than ever. Go back to way before the time of Gru, to when the Minions were searching for the perfect master. A narrator goes back to the beginning of
time to tell you how the Minions first came about, and what masters they served. They served dinosaurs and bears and a lot of other ferocious beasts, until finally coming across man.
The Minions liked man the best, and were trying to find the best evil men to serve. After Napoleon, the Minions went to the Arctic. Don't worry, the Minions do not serve Hitler. Around 1968, the Minions are longing for a new master.
So begins the quest of Bob, Kevin, and Stewart to find the biggest, baddest villain that they can possibly work for. Again, this adventure recently came out, and it is full of laughs! This is definitely a great family movie that you and your kids will love. Just so I peak your interest, here's a clip from the film:

No ratings needed, this is an awesome movie. So go see it and enjoy!!!

Ant-Man

MARVEL'S
A N T - M A N

Get ready for one of the funniest Marvel movies that you will ever see! Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly deliver an excellent performance as they fight for the Pym particle against the evil Darren Cross. Hank Pym has created an amazing particle that can shrink people down to the size of
an ant. And S.H.I.E.L.D. wants it. But, Dr Pym knows all too well that the particle in the wrong hands could lead to something drastic. So, Dr Pym resigns from his position at S.H.I.E.L.D. in 1989.
Fast forward to the present day, and Scott Lang is being punched in the face as a farewell gift. He is finally getting released from the slammer, and he decides that he is done with stealing people's stuff. He gets picked up by one of his good friends and they go back to their apartment. Scott decides to get a job. Since he is an ex robber, he can't get any really good jobs, so instead he works at Baskin Robbins. But all too soon, he gets fired.
He goes to his daughter Cassie's birthday party, and talks to his wife about finally getting
to spend time with Cassie. He maps it out and figures out that he will have to work for 377 days until he can finally see Cassie. Not satisfied, Scott turns back to crime. His friend tells him of a big job that could get him a lot of money. But when he robs the place, it turns out that there is no money. Instead, there is a suit. Scott takes the suit home and tries it on. He shrinks and goes on a crazy "test run."                           Scott does not want any part of the suit and he returns it. On the way out from the house and returning the suit, he gets arrested. Dr Pym meets with Scott at the jail, pretending to be his lawyer. Dr Pym gives Scott a second chance by giving him the Ant-Man suit. Scott escapes from prison and makes it back to Dr Pym's house. Here, he is given his mission.
He has to break in to Pym Technologies and steal a suit; the Yellow Jacket. This Yellow Jacket is what Darren Cross has been working on for years now, after having been Dr Pym's pupil for so long. Darren Cross wants to make an army of Yellow Jackets. If that happens, the world will plunge into chaos.
I know it's a little early to be telling you all of this, so I will let you figure out the rest for yourself. This is really a fun movie, one that is sure going to be enjoyed by families over and over again. Really the only things you should watch out for is language. Other than that, Ant-Man is an enjoyable movie experience for all ages.

RATINGS:
Action: 8 out 10 Fire Ants- This was an awesome movie. Everything was nicely balanced, especially the action! There wasn't a whole lot of fighting, but all of the scenes with the ants were definitely action-packed.
FUN: 9.5 out of 10 Trucks- C'mon, for those who have seen this movie, you gotta admit this was a really fun movie. It was like Guardians of the Galaxy, just a lot more references. And if you are well-rounded in movies and TV shows, you should get most of the references.
Story-line: 9 out of 10 Pym Particles- This story was very well done. I love how they balanced every single character, and they definitely took the time to develop Scott, Hank, Hope, and even Darren Cross! Trust me, you won't regret seeing this movie.
Overall: 9 out of 10 Stars- I rounded the math up, but if you see the movie, you'll know why. But yea! That's my review for the last movie in Marvel's Phase Two!

Terminator: Genisys

Get ready for the Terminator movie you have wanted to see ever since the disappointment of "Terminator: Salvation." Back and better than ever, Arnold Schwarzenegger delivers an excellent performance as the 101st Model T-800 Terminator. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's start from the  beginning.

T E R M I N A T O R
G E N I S Y S

Kyle Reese begins the film by explaining that his parents would tell him of a world before the war with the machines...a world he never knew. He explains that Skynet was the driving force behind the Apocalyptic world Kyle was raised in.
*NOTE: If you have seen Terminator 3 and/or Terminator: Salvation, you can scrap those story lines about how Kyle met John Connor.*
As a child Kyle was constantly on the run from the Terminators. On one such occasion,
The T-1000, not supposed to show up until Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Kyle ran into a sewer. A "skin-job" followed him and was about to kill him when John drops in and shoots the Terminator down.
From here, Kyle explains how John raised him, and taught him and the Resistance how to fight back. Some called John Connor a prophet, but to Kyle, he was much more. John was a friend. Now, the night where we pick up the story is the last battle.
This is the night the Resistance will destroy Skynet forever. John has sent a battalion to the Central Core of Skynet, and they are currently working on destroying the main CPU. Skynet realizes it is losing, and therefore sends a Terminator back in time... young Schwarzenegger. Soon after, Skynet is shut down. The Terminators lose all functionality, and the Resistance has won... or so they think.
They set up base at the time machine, and John explains that one person must go back in
Young vs. Old Schwarzenegger
time to protect his mother if there will ever be hope for the survival of humanity.
Many volunteer, and John does not choose them. Finally, Kyle speaks up and says, "I'll go. Let me save her." "Why should I choose you over them?" asks John. "You know why." And yes we all know why. Kyle loves Sarah.
So Kyle prepares himself and steps onto the platform that will send him back to 1984. As the machine is charging up, John looks on, then is attacked by an unknown soldier. Remember this guy. When he grabs John, he grabs him around the mouth, and an energy begins to pulse through John. Just as this happens, Kyle is gone, and is transported back to 1984.
Now, if you have watched the original Terminator film, you are gonna see a lot of familiar things. I won't spoil, but I'll let die-hard fans flip out on their own.
One of the things that is odd about this 1984 is that there is a Terminator that is not supposed to come in until the second movie. Yea, the T-1000 is here to hunt Kyle, too.
But before that, if you remember correctly, Schwarzenegger arrives first and goes to see the punks where he first gets his clothes. "Nice night for a walk," he repeats from one of the punks.
He also tells them he needs their clothes.
But before the killing can happen, an older Schwarzenegger comes from the darkness and says, "I've been waiting for you." He has a Remington and looks like he is ready to kick some serious butt.
The younger Schwarzenegger charges and a battle ensues, ending with the younger version being shot down by Sarah Connor. When he's shot down, we see the familiar thumbs-up from  Terminator 2: Judgment Day by the older Schwarzenegger.

The T-3000
The scene switches to Kyle running from the Terminator cop, picking up his clothes like in the original Terminator film. He gets changed in the changing room and drops down in his Nikes.
The Terminator stabs through the back of the changing room and Kyle has gotta scram fast. As he's running, he runs into two cops, one being called O'Brian. Remember this guy, too. He'll be coming up later.
O'Brian and his pal arrest Kyle, and Kyle attempts to tell them that a Terminator is coming and that they're gonna die. Of course they don't listen and O'Brian's friend gets killed.
Just as the T-1000 is going to terminate Kyle and O'Brian, a huge truck breaks through the store and runs into the Terminator.
The door opens and Sarah Connor yells, "Come with me if you want to live!" The T-1000 gets up and begins to walk forward when Sarah starts shooting him up.
                  "NOW SOLDIER!"
Kyle runs into the truck and Sarah starts driving. The T-1000 throws a liquid part of himself onto the truck in order to track them.
So, I'm pretty sure you can imagine that Kyle is just as confused as we are. He starts out by asking what's going on, that this past is all messed up, and that something is terribly wrong.
Sarah says, "Look, I know that John sent you back, but the past he knew about is changed." Whaaa'?
Well then! I'm gonna leave the play-by-play narrative of the story here. It's pretty early since the film just came out, but I highly suggest seeing the movie. I'll put the trailer below so you can try and get a feel for what's going on, although the trailer really won't explain anything.
But yea! I'll leave my ratings below, I recommend reading them. But just so you know right now, the film is PG-13, so there's no sexuality.

RATINGS
Family Friendliness: 5 out of 10 Time Portals- I advise caution for ages 11 and younger. There is extreme violence and a lotta swearing. But, there is little to no blood and no sexuality. Also, what nudity there is, it's because of the time travel, and you may catch a little bit of butt and maybe some of Emilia Clarke's breasts. So... Parental Discretion is advised.
Story-line: 9.5 out of 10 T-800's
The story is well-developed and is brought together at the end. It all ties together so beautifully, and you leave the theater completely mind-blown. This is definitely a film to watch over and over again.
Action: 9.8 out of 10 T-3000's
Oh…my…gosh. There is no way to explain the amount of action. It was totally awesome!
Overall Rating: 9.5 out of 10 Guns- My math came out to be 8.1 but I couldn't let that be the case, so I added 1.4 guns to the equation. But 8.1 is to be taken if your child is 12 and under.

Jurassic World

Are you looking for another movie to absolutely blow you away? Look no further than Jurassic World! This incredible reboot takes on the same terror as the original Jurassic Park films and adds a little bit of spice to the franchise.
In this edition of PoC blogging, I will try and cover as much as I possibly can. You could also consider this as your "Parent Edition" if you want. If I miss something, I apologize beforehand. Now, let's get to reviewing!

J U R A S S I C    W O R L D

The park is definitely open and running smoothly. The film begins 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, and is now a fully functioning theme park, as was the vision of our beloved John Hammond. Two kids, Gray and Zach, are leaving to visit their Aunt Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard, Spider-Man 3) who is now the head of the park.
The film starts off relatively slow and mellow, focusing on Gray, the younger brother, being ecstatic about seeing real life dinosaurs for probably the first time. His older brother Zach, however, is not so thrilled. The two visit multiple attractions with Claire's British assistant. (Did you miss the Jurassic Park theme? Well, here it is! I cried to be honest.)
Now how could we forget about Chris Pratt? Well, we'll have to call him Owen, since that's his film name. Turns out, Owen is somewhat of a dinosaur trainer. He has trained four Velociraptors to obey him. Their names are Blue, Charlie, Delta, and Echo. And Owen is the Alpha.
Claire's boss wants to know if the "new attraction" is okay to be shown to the people of Jurassic World. Because, it's been like ten years since they had a huge flood of people come, and that's not good, cuz they want their money. I can't blame them.
Well, the boss isn't ready to just give the go-ahead. The Indominus Rex has eaten her sister, and has tried to break the glass of her confinement space. So the boss tells Claire to call in Owen to see if it's okay.
Now you have to understand that before the events of the film, Owen and Claire had a thing going, and their relationship is kinda awkward right now. So you can imagine that Claire is pretty reluctant about going to her old boyfriend.
That isn't the only problem though. Owen has a guy that wants to buy the Velociraptors from the park and utilize them in the battlefield of war. Owen understands why... because it's possible to control them. But if it goes wrong, everyone on the field could die, and both nations of the war wouldn't like that.
Now, Claire brings Owen to the Indominus Rex's confinement. I won't tell you how she gets out, but it's pretty scary. Like, not jump scary, but mentally scary cuz she outsmarts the humans. Yea... I know.
Back to Zach and Gray! They run from the Brit assistant (no offense to the Englishmen out there) and go into the hamster bowl thingy. I forget what it's called. And when Indominus escapes confinement, that's when the action picks up.
Zach and Gary run into the Indominus, and get away safely. Claire and Owen go in search of the kids, and eventually find them, running into the Indominus more than once. OH OH OOH! I
almost forgot! Okay, I won't tell you all of it, but I'll tell you that Gray and Zach run into the old Jurassic Park museum and get to drive one of the old school Jeeps!
The Indominus causes all sorts of trouble, enough for the guy Owen was dealing with earlier to finally utilize the raptors to try and beat Indominus. Large battle ensues, and you will have to see what happens next!
NOTE: I do realize I left out some things, but I did that on purpose. I only got the gist of the film, the rest is for you to find out. Now to the ratings.

Family Friendliness: 5 out of 10 Raptors- this film is defintely not for your 6 to 7 year old. i know you have preference, but if it were my child, i would not let them see this film unless they were at least 8 or 9, maybe even 10. there is some suggestive blood content, there is swearing, and im not really sure what your view on cussing is.
Action: 9 out of 10 Amino Acids- the film has a good beginning. its delightful, happy, and funny. once the action picks up, there is a lot more stress, but there is still an element of humor that nicely balances out all of the action. there's chases, avoiding being eaten, and constantly running.
Storyline: 9.8 out of 10 Indominus Rexes- the story was well developed, and kept the same elements of things going horribly out of control. there was a satisfying ending, and also an opening for a sequel. (I've heard Chris Pratt has signed on for sequels!!!)
Overall: 8 out of 10- i took the average of the previous three categories, coming out to 7.93333333, so i just rounded up. overall a great film. i highly recommend it.
Rewatch Probability: High

Avengers: Age of Ultron

It's about time I put up another movie review, since all these new movies will be rolling in quite soon. One such movie that I'm sure you're all dying or have already seen is the new Avengers movie. Well, I'm here to tell you about it, review it, and recommend it.

WARNING: MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...

Okay, now that the warning is out of the way, let's get to our movie:

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

I'm sure we can all agree that this is probably one of the most highly anticipated movies of the entire year. And plus, it's the one that kicks off all of the summer films. So, with our standards set high, we wait for Ant-Man, Batman vs. Superman, Tommorowland, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Until then, we have the next chapter in Marvel's continuing story of superheroes.
Ultron's First Body
The film begins with action pretty quickly. Hydra has gotten hold of Loki's scepter, and are accessing its power for weaponry. They have been successful, and the Avengers are tearing up the military base. The people inside the base, including Baron von Strucker, are a little freaked out.
Strucker orders his people to put up the shield, and is trying to reassure everybody that they won't get in. One of the scientists says, "But they're the Avengers!"
Good job! You finally got it. The Avengers can do a lot of things, including breaking into a top secret super protected military facility as if they were breaking into an unlocked home. Not very difficult, and the Avengers get the scepter. But... with some complications.
They meet Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, who are working for Hydra. Scarlet Witch looks into the Avengers' minds and sees in Tony Stark's that he wants to create an artificial intelligence. She sees that he could make the world possibly a better place overall. So she wants him to succeed. She therefore allows Tony to take the scepter.
The Avengers go back to the Avengers tower and begin analyzing the scepter right away,
with Tony and Bruce working on it to try and access its power, therefore completing Tony's "Ultron" program. The "Ultron" program was designed to end the Avengers.
Every time that an alien race would come to wreak havoc on Earth, Tony is hoping that by creating Ultron, the Avengers will never have to assemble again, because Ultron will take care of the threat before it even thinks about touching the surface of Earth.
After three days of endless work, Tony and Bruce are still unsuccessful. However, they are able to take a little break and enjoy Tony's party. We see a lot of familiar faces, Rhodey, Maria Hill, Falcon, and of course, the Avengers.
Where Ultron builds his army
Tony leaves Jarvis to continue running diagnostics to see if they can finally create Ultron. Almost immediately after Tony and Bruce leave for the party, Jarvis succeeds in creating Ultron. Ultron wakes up and begins asking questions. Jarvis tries to explain and keep him calm, also seeing that Ultron's intentions of being a "hero" are quite harmful to the human race.
Jarvis tries shutting Ultron down, but Ultron destroys Jarvis, and begins making a body for himself. This is where the action starts to pick up with Ultron. Ultron creates his first body, and has his first encounter with the Avengers.
The Avengers easily beat Ultron's first body, and Tony has to reveal what he was working on for the past few years after the incident in the first Avengers film. And guess what?! They are not happy... especially Captain America.
Tony complains, "Does anybody remember when I put a missile through a portal, in New York City? We were standing right under it. We're the Avengers, we can bust weapons dealers the whole doo-da-day, but how do we cope with something like that?"
                Captain America responds: "Together."
                "We'll lose."
                "We do that together, too."
Now what? They need to get the scepter back. So they go to Africa, near Wakanda where the Black Panther is. Why? Ultron's going there to obtain Vibranium, the material Captain America's shield is made of. Okay, before I go on, when the Avengers first returned to the Avengers tower, there was a scientist there who helped Hawkeye because he was injured. In fact, part of his abdominal tissue was completely shot off.
The machine that the scientist and Tony created makes natural skin tissue based off of the person that is in the chamber. Now, Ultron wants to use that machine to make for himself the perfect body. For those of you who know this story arc... you know that Ultron is creating the Vision.
Now, this is where in the trailer you see Hulk and Iron Man fight as the Hulkbuster. Tony gives his hulking 11 foot suit the name, "Veronica." Just a fun fact. Why do Hulk and Iron Man fight? Because the Scarlet Witch gets inside the Hulk's head and makes him see his fear, which is never truly revealed.
Iron Man beats the Hulk, and the Avengers fail in getting the scepter again, with Ultron
Hulk vs. The Hulkbuster
being successful in getting the Vibranium he needs to make his synthezoid.

SYNTHEZOID:  A special type of android empowered by synthesizing energy; in other words, he is a special android made from a different material, defining him with special human-like organs; also his different make-up gives him his abilities such as flight (source: Explanation of Synthezoid)
The Avengers then go to the home of Hawkeye, where they recuperate and hope to come up with a strategy. Nick Fury meets them and tells them that they better pull it together, or else the entire world will be destroyed.
The Avengers eventually catch up with Ultron, and prevent him from making Vision so that Ultron can occupy the Vision's body. Instead, Tony brings back Jarvis and implants him into the Vision's body, and so is born... The Vision.
I'll leave the action to you... but it was totally awesome. See for yourself. This is a movie you don't want to miss.

Rating-
Story-line: 9.3 out of 10 Shields; overall, the story was accurate, except for the fact that Tony Stark is actually not the one who makes Ultron. It was in fact Hank Pym, but it all worked out. And the fact that the Vision was Jarvis was all wrong, but that worked okay too.
Action: 8.9 out of 10 Hulkbusters; not that the action was bad... there was just too much of it. I dunno, maybe I'm just being stupid, but it didn't seem like there was too much development of Ultron, which I would have liked to see more of. But... you can't do everything, can you Whedon???
Rewatch Probability: Very high, aka 9.6; if you know a lot of the story arcs that tie in to these movies... then that means you will be flipping out at the very end of the movie. It's totally awesome. Now, at the end, if you're confused, those are the New Avengers. Iron Man left, so did Thor and Hawkeye. Captain America is still the leader, but it's new people. I was actually hoping that that could be potential for the West Coast Avengers, but that potential will come up in Civil War so yeah.
Overall Rating: 9.27 out of 10
Wondering how I got that answer??? Add 9.3, 8.9, and 9.6, and you end up with 27.8. Divide that by three, and you get 9.266666666667. So rounding... 9.27.
So there you are!
