2014: The Upcoming Year

Alright folks! It's almost New Year's! You know what that means, NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS! So some of my goals are listed below... which are also release dates for movies/ videogames.

January __: I, Frankenstein- The Legend Continues 200 years after his birth... what's he up to this time?

February __: The Lego Movie- An all-star cast will make this new Lego installation the best ever made!

May 2: The Amazing Spider-Man 2- Peter Parker's Journey for uncovering his past continues, as he looks for why his father created the spiders, and discovers that his vigilante path leads to more danger as he proceeds down it. "For every life I save, I make more enemies." Well, rightho Pete, get ready to face your greatest threats yet, Rhino and Electro. (Electro played by Jamie Foxx)

November __: The Hunger Games : Mockingjay - Part 1 - Katniss' journey and fight is told in the second-to-last installation in Suzanne Collins' famous series. Does Katniss find and save Peeta? What role does she take on in the war? Will the Mockingjay be enough of a symbol of hope to bring down the Capitol? Which side will win? All these questions are to be answered... we'll have to wait and see.

December 17: The Hobbit: There and Back Again- The finale of the Hobbit trilogy comes out at yet another later date. Here we shall see the fate of Laketown, what becomes of the Necromancer, and also the fate of Smaug the Terrible. We shall also see (SPOILER ALERT) The Battle of the Five Armies, where no doubt we will see Tauriel and Legolas delivering some awesome arrow-flying action. And then Bilbo is homeward bound, not the same hobbit that he was from when he left his comfortable little hole in the ground at Bag End. 80 years later, the War of the Ring... begins.

Well, that's all I have for today folks! If there's anything I missed, please comment below, and I'll add the changes. Thanks!

This post is for +Nuked Dew , and +Patrick Ranallo , and all those other folks out there!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Last Saturday, I went to go see the second installment of Peter Jackson's new trilogy. And guess what? TOTALLY worth the price of admission. Three hours of some of Jackson's best work yet.

The movie begins with the journey to the house of Beorn, a skin-changer, who takes on the form of a bear. Then the story continues into the forest of Mirkwood, where giant spiders live. Before leaving, Gandalf tells Thorin Oakenshield, the leader of the dwarf company, "Don't enter that mountain without me."

You would think they would've heeded his saying, but, as per usual, the protagonists ignore the wise wizard's advice and instruction. The company enters Mirkwood, and are captured by the Wood Elves, Legolas' Realm (for those old time LOTR fans) after almost being eaten by the spiders. Bilbo was actually the one who saves them! He slips on the ring and sneaks around in the trees. With the power of the ring, he can actually understand what the spiders are saying in the "Common Speech"(English).

So Bilbo fights off 4 or 5 and saves his friends. After leaving the Wood Realm of the Wood Elves, (saved from jail by, again, Bilbo with his trusty ring) in a bunch of barrels, and some totally awesome fighting action from Legolas, his "sidekick" Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly [Real Steel]), the dwarves arrive to Laketown, with the help of Bard.

Bard is one of Laketown's residents, and he is also the ancestor of the soldier who failed to strike down Smaug when he first arrived and destroyed Dale. He smuggles them in the barrels they arrive in. Kili, one of the dwarves and also brother of Fili, is poisoned right now, with the SAME poison that almost turned Frodo into one of the wraiths.

Legolas and Tauriel follow the dwarf company and find them in Laketown. With Kili sick, Tauriel heals him, and saves him from entering the Wraith world. After a whole skirmish with the pale orc, Azog, Laketown finds out about their dwarf friends. They welcome them, and properly decorate Thorin as King Under the Mountain.

While all this is going on, Gandalf has summoned a meeting with Radaghast( what a boss) and tells him that the Necromancer (aka Sauron) has awoken his Ring Wraiths... and they are on their way now to reclaim Mordor, which is now inhabited. But not for long. For a WHOLE separate story on this, buy the new videogame coming out in 2014 called, "Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor." It's gonna be totally sick. Now, back to our movie review.

Radaghast doesn't believe that the Necromancer is real; he believes that he is some amateur sorcerer trying to inflict fear on the world. And that the Ring Wraiths are just some of his cronies. But Gandalf makes a good point, there has never been word of Sauron for over 2,000 years... why would someone want to randomly bring back an old legend? And how could he have Azog be serving him and trying to start another war in Middle-Earth? No teenage fool would do that. But Radaghast isn't buying it.

Gandalf decides to go into Dol Guldur, where the Necromancer first awoke in "An Unexpected Journey." Radaghast asks Gandalf, "What if it's a trap?!"

"LEAVE Radaghast, and don't look back!" Radaghast obeys and Gandalf pulls out his sword.

"It is undoubtedly... a trap." SHING! (Sword being unsheathed[F.Y.I.])

Gandalf enters and encounters the Necromancer and there is a giant face-off of good and evil.
When Gandalf is held against the wall, he turns his eyes to meet his attacker and says, barely audible, "Sauron."

Now, I won't spoil the rest of the movie, but I will tell you the dwarves enter the mountain, encounter Smaug, have a big fight, Smaug leaves the mountain, and starts flying towards Laketown to add to his vast Desolation.

Bilbo, looking out to Laketown, watching Smaug close in on his target, says to himself,

                                                            "What have we done?"

Two days left til The Hobbit, a few 'till Christmas

Well, we all know that The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes out this Friday, and 14 days 'till Christmas! So, who's ready to receive some awesome barrel action, and some pretty cool gifts?

I know +Nuked Dew  is... and so am I! It's going to be a great Christmas, and let's all celebrate together.

For those who believe, we all know the real meaning of Christmas... the birth of Jesus Christ, who came to save us from our sins. If you want to know Him as your Lord and Savior, comment below, and I can help you. You may think that you are someone who does not need to repent, as you may already go to some church. But that is not good enough to get yourself into Heaven. God loves us , but needs us to seek him. That is all we have to do! Seek God and his commands and repent.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, PLEASE comment, and I will help you with anything you might be wondering about. If you want to accept Jesus, I'll send you a prayer to say, and then you'll be on your way. If you don't already go to a church, I would highly recommend you go to the Chapel at Crosspoint. It is a great church where they preach the truth and they open your eyes and help you see that you need a Savior to get you into Heaven.

Thanks for reading this, and may God bless you as you celebrate Christ Jesus's birth.

Thor: The Dark World - The Official Review by Piece of Cake

You know what? I just saw one of the best Marvel movies of all time... and I'm here to tell you about it.

"Before the universe was made, there was darkness... and out of the darkness, came the Dark Elves," begins Thor 2. The screen fades in to war, as Odin continues to narrate, and comes to the main subject of the movie, the Aether (ee-ther). The Aether is an all powerful source of energy, and it has the power to put the world back into complete darkness... apparently.

The movie continues and Natalie Portman ( Jane Foster) is searching for Thor... two years after the events of the first installment. She starts receiving signature readings that only appeared when Thor had come. She thinks she's about to find him, when, she falls through the surface of the earth and lands in a different world, the place where the Aether was kept. Jane gets corrupted and she's sent back to Earth.

Thor returns to Earth because the gatekeeper of Asgard no longer sees her. He brings Jane back to Asgard, where they discover she's been corrupted by the Aether. Now Thor sets out on a quest with Loki to save Jane.

At the end of the film, there is a giant battle between Malekith and Thor. Malekith is defeated, and the nine realms are once again at peace.

                                                        Thor: The Dark World

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this a 9 for pure awesomeness... a 10 would have to be so mind-blowing I would've peed my pants... I almost did. So... actually... it's a 9.5. Yea... see it and love it.
