X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

          UPDATES!

I know I never had any time to finish up my Spider-Man 2 post, but I got +Nate AG to do that for me. You can expect that review in a bit. Also, I'm finished with all mini-series things. It's just too much. Therefore, I am done with God's Not Dead. If I never put a rating out of 10, I give it a 10 because of truth told, a powerful story, and non-cheezy lines like in previous Christian movies.
Which, that's a big improvement from the Christian movies I've seen. (I've seen quite a few because I'm a Christian myself) If you're not a Christian and wanna go see a Christian movie for any reason, see God's Not Dead. Enough of my updates and what-not. Oh, BTW's, my reviews will from now on be just reviews, because some of my posts have been basically the whole story. And that's pretty boring. Now, on to X-Men!

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Now, if you don't already know this, X-Men: Days of Future Past is the seventh entry into the mutants' story. There's X-Men to X-Men III, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, and The Wolverine.
As seen in the trailer for this movie, (see below) the world in the future is a desolate world; it is a barren wasteland because of the mass destruction done to it by the Sentinals. Sentinals are the machines that are designed to kill off the entire mutant race.
Well, they have done a really good job of it, because the entire mutant race is on the "brink of extinction," as Charles puts it in the trailer. But, of course, the machines have evolved beyond their programming. They have identified the humans that try to help the mutants, and they can identify the genes of any human being. This allows them to see if any human has the potential genes to make a mutant in the future, making those humans a threat to them. Therefore, they too are exterminated.
The camp in New York City holding mutants and humans alike somewhat resembles the concentration camps of the Holocaust in World War II. (apologies to my Jewish readers, if any) The prisoners are moving off to be killed, a very sad and depressing sight.
The film then shifts to the Blackbird, the X-Men's jet, landing in an abandoned monastery in post-apocolyptic China. The members who exit the Blackbird are Wolverine, (of course, and smoking a cigar [?]) Storm, Professor Xavier, and Magneto. We can tell by this bunch along with Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Ice-Man, Bishop, Warpath, Blink, and Sunspot that not many mutants have survived the Sentinal onslaught.
Xavier's goal is to send his conscience back into the past 50 years ago to warn himself and a much younger Magneto about the Sentinal creation. But, there's a problem.
"The mind can only stretch so much before it snaps. Your mind couldn't sustain the trip. I'm sorry Professor." These are the words of Kitty Pryde to Xavier, basically saying that her ability to send him back 50 years into the past would kill him. That's where Wolverine comes in.
Since his entire body can recover within seconds of injury, his conscience apparently has that ability, too. Therefore, Wolverine is sent back to 1973, embarking on his quest to save mutant-kind.
Along the way, we meet a lot of characters, old and new! Of course, we've got a young Xavier, (played by the awesome James McAvoy) a younger Eric, aka Magneto (played by Michael Fassbender), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Havok (Lucas Till), Toad (Evan Jonigkeit), and a bunch of others. I could go on forever, but, it would take up too much space. For all of the characters, go to this link:

In a nutshell, Wolverine succeeds, and time is reversed back to the days of the first X-Men movie, where every single hero is still alive. All of their memories are the memories of the past 20-30 years of the changed past. Wolverine, having been the only one to change the past, has no idea what happened within that 30 year time span.
               Neither does Charles.

"It's good to see you, Charles."
              "Logan. We did it."
              "Yeah, I guess we did."
"You and me have a lot of catching up to do. Come on."

These are the last lines between Logan and Xavier, saying that their mission has been completed, and they're the only two who have any idea what happened in the alternate universe only they remember.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Here's the review I promised! **There are a lot of references to the first Amazing Spider-Man in this film. I highly advise seeing the first before seeing the second... it'll help a lot.**

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 begins in similarity to the first in the Amazing series. It begins with Peter's mysterious father leaving Oscorp to come home. He packs everything he needs into his briefcase, which we first saw in the previous film.
Richard Parker is then shown in his basement, recording his last video entry containing all of the information about his research with the genetically enhanced spiders. Just as he's about to finish, young Peter calls his father, and we see Peter standing in the destroyed office room we saw in the first.
Richard and Mary (his wife) take Peter to his aunt and uncle's place, and Peter's parents disappear into the storm, leaving Peter completely clueless as to what is going on.
Richard and Mary board a plane to go far away from Manhattan, destination unknown. All we do know is that the Parkers want to get as far away from Manhattan as they can. I will not reveal what happens on the plane, but look at the most recent trailer, and you will see this...

Happy Mother's Day!

We all take our moms for granted at times, but I think that on Sunday, this should be their day.
Whatever you wanna do, guys, make sure you do something for mom first. Without moms, you wouldn't be here. Without moms, you wouldn't be confident, without moms, you wouldn't be able to walk. Without moms, I dunno what we would do.
So, this is for you moms...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Easter Eggs

WARNING! CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Alright, this is more for the ones who have already seen the amazing blockbuster film. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a movie that, I’m sure you would agree, reveals secrets as to Peter’s origin that were never in the comics.
Marc Webb cleverly designs an origin story that tells an incredible story that both comic fans and non-comic fans alike can grasp, understand, and love. While Marc Webb does a fantastic job of making more scientific sense of Spider-Man’s foes, I think we can see where he wants to go with the wall-crawler’s enemies.
It seems like almost all of Spidey’s enemies will be results of Oscorp tech that originated from Peter’s father and Norman Osborne. So Mr. Webb is making Oscorp look like the ultimate enemy, and nobody is realizing it (in the movie that is). Yes, Oscorp is an evil corporation in general, but making it the ULTIMATE super-villain supplier?!
That just makes it sound like it’s going to be a HUGE monotonous mess of super-villains that all come from super high-tech gear. Now, in my opinion, that defeats the whole purpose of Spider-Man’s enemies!
Each one is supposed to be unique, and all of them create a variety that adds color and flavor to the wall-crawler’s enemy gallery. But Mr. Webb is almost trying to take a giant toy box, and confine it to one small little chest.
Even for non-comic book fans of Spider-Man, it seems like it’ll become a bit boring. I think we can expect some protests against this from the fans (me being one of them). Now, I’m not trying to start a riot or anything, I’m just saying that Mr. Webb could’ve followed through with his idea, just not it the way he’s approaching it now.
Y’know, Mr. Webb could’ve had Oscorp stationed all over the world, and then the super-villains are encountered later on in Manhattan because of the villains’ desire to destroy millions of lives, starting in Manhattan! I don’t know! Just don’t confine everything to one building and one enormous city!
Whew! Enough of my ranting and criticism, let’s get on to the good stuff: Easter Eggs! The only ones I saw were pretty obvious, only like one wasn’t as obvious (or maybe two weren’t so obvious, I dunno).
            Well, here goes:
Felicia Hardy: Harry Osborne’s secretary in the movie, and to comic book fans, inevitably Black Cat.
Venom: Now, one not so obvious, but when Harry is looking through the Oscorp files for the first time, there’s a file labeled, “Venom.” So Venom will most likely be a spin-off of the original spider venom that created Spider-Man.
Doctor Octopus: Now, if you didn’t spot this one… that’s just sad. Either you have really bad eyesight, or you fell asleep during the movie, which I find highly unlikely.
Return of Hobgoblin or Rise of Demogoblin: This one isn’t as obvious either, but also when Harry was looking through the files, there was a file named, “Os-Suit MK II.” So we can expect Harry to return, or to get another goblin on his side.
Red Skull in Future Captain America’s?: Huh? Yep, that’s right! When Mr. and Mrs. Parker were getting attacked, that man was actually a trained assassin working for the THIRD Red Skull, so we can probably expect a Red Skull return in future Captain movies. Maybe not, I dunno.
Of Easter Eggs, that’s all I saw. Now, I’ll be posting a review on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in the upcoming week, so expect that soon. You can also expect more info on The Walk to Defeat ALS, a Part III to my God’s Not Dead mini-series, and another review on a movie called “Irreplaceable.”
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a great day! (Or evening, depending on when you read this)

God's Not Dead- Part II

Hi guys. I realize that I've been slacking off of the movie reviews, but it's mainly because of all of the homework I've had. All of these Common Core Tests, and now I have to get ready for finals. Yep, it's a lot, and it's been getting in the way of my blogging.
But today, I blog once again!

GOD'S NOT DEAD

Continued...

Last time, I finished up the story of Josh Wheaton. Let's move on to another story. The story of Amy.
Now, Amy is a reporter who always gets the inside scoop when it's least expected. In other words, she likes to pop out on people that she needs to get a scoop on and then she asks them a series of questions, kinda putting them on the spot.
At the beginning of her story, we see that not all is going well for her. The power went out in her house, so she was late for work. She was worried about the power going out again when warming up her coffee, so she takes it out maybe 5 seconds early.
Then when she goes to  her car, we see that she's been robbed. Somebody broke in and stole her GPS. So, a good lesson to be learned here... don't leave things in your car that could get stolen... especially your GPS.
So Amy calls her boyfriend and asks for directions to the place she needs to get to, which is a church. She gets the directions after telling her wealthy boyfriend that she's going to get the scoop on Willie Robertson, from the popular show DUCK DYNASTY.
She gets to the church, and pops out at the famous duck hunter and his wife. She asks him why he kills the ducks, and asks if he thinks it's cruel. He says no, it's his way of life! And as long as he's glorifying the Lord in all he does, then he's okay with it.
Amy also asks what she thinks about people protesting against his praying publicly for the world to hear. He responds by basically saying he doesn't care what people think. He'll worship God freely because he can.
Now, I'll skip ahead and say this: Amy is diagnosed with cancer. It's spread and she has a high chance of dying. The doctor suggests to stop working, but she says she can't do that. As a result, she's going to increase her chances of dying.
She tells her boyfriend, and he doesn't even care. All he wanted was for Amy to get him stories that would sell him money. He never cared for Amy, and he dumps her at dinner. Well, Amy is all alone, and she has one last story to get that we see at the end of the movie.
She goes to the Newsboys, one of the top Christian bands in the country. Here... she gets saved. And we see the Newsboys perform their song, "God's Not Dead."
Speaking of that song... here it is if you wanna hear it.
