Kickin' off the New Year with GRAVITY

Hey Guys! Happy New Year! So, as in the title, I saw GRAVITY New Year's Eve, into New Year's Day. Well, I'll say on a scale of 1-10 for intensity, it was (for me) a 9.5. I've never been more horrified of something that realistic... something that could actually happen.

If you guys saw the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks, and loved it, see this one... it's WAY more intense. For those of you that disliked Cast Away, and couldn't handle the "suspense," I would say to you to not go and see this one.

Alright, we walked into the movie a bit late, so I'm assuming that Sandra Bullock and George Clooney both get deployed into space to do something with the Hubble telescope. I arrive at the part where Sandra Bullock (Ryan) is fixing up a piece of the telescope that has either malfunctioned, or something wasn't done right.

Houston says to her, "How long do you think you'll need, Doctor?"

"One hour."

"Roger that."

So Sandra gets working on the "broken" piece and George Clooney is just flying around, observing, then he requests to help Sandra. "Permission granted." So while the two are working, Houston sends a message that doesn't seem like it'll affect them much... but of course, it does.

"Houston to Explorer. We have just received word that the Russians have just blown up one of their own satellites, and the debris is flying at 20,000 miles an hour... but is far from your location. We'll keep you posted."

"Roger that, Houston," replies Clooney.

About two minutes later, Houston again radios and says, "Houston to Explorer, the debris from the destroyed Russian satellite is heading your way, twice as fast as we had anticipated. Return to your ship and come back home immediately."

George immediately stops working and starts to float towards the Explorer, "Explorer, please initiate opening hatch."

"Initiated. Ready for your deposit."

"Come on, Ryan," says George to Sandra.

"Just a second."

"No, not just a second, now. That's an order."

"Alright." She detaches herself from the telescope, and she's stuck by one cord. "I can't get free... I'm stuck."

"Just relax," says Clooney. "Lemme get it."

"Explorer to Matt(Clooney). You better hurry up, the storm's comin." And that storm did not look happy.

"Houston to Explorer, expect a communication black out at any moment. I repeat, expect a communication blackout at any moment."

Now here's where the action starts to kick in. The storm arrives, with Sandra and Clooney still at the telescope, which actually provides them with protection, though it's minimal... but it keeps them alive.

Sandra finally detaches herself from the telescope, which is now getting wrecked, and she starts "spin-drifting." Okay, so let's skip ahead, and Sandra and George are at the ISS(International Space Station). Before this, they encounter two horrifically distorted dead bodies... you were warned.

Sandra is holding on to George, and saying that she won't let go of him, they're connected by a cord that is dragging both away from the ISS. "Ryan, you can make it. You have to let go."

"No, I'm going to save you. You're coming with me."

"It's not your decision." He starts to undo his attachment to the cord, and then he takes one last look at Sandra, and lets go. Now Sandra is alone, in the deep void of space.

Okay, I won't spoil the rest, because I'm feeling stressed out just typing about the movie. Okay, well, Happy New Year, and God Bless!
